What we call Diamond Head, the extinct volcanic crater that towers over Waikiki, was translated into Hawaiian as "Kaimanahila', or Diamond Hill. The song, a shortened, commonly sung version adapted by the late Andy Cummings, talks about taking a walk and seeing Diamond Head, Waikiki surfers and the old horse track at Kapi'olani Park. I learned it from Uncle Joe Keawe's 1977 album.
